Who is ApplicantPro:

Although we have pretty dang cool web-based technology (and a team of programmers), at our core we are a sales and service organization. We sell hiring software and services to small and mid-sized companies specifically in industries with high turnover and workforces made up of entry to mid-level employees (think credit unions, restaurants, auto dealers, senior care, hotels, grocery, non-profits, recreation, manufacturing, etc). We provide a self-service platform mixed with best practices and free consulting by our teams of hiring consultants. We currently service nearly 10,000 of these companies and acquire an additional 300+ monthly across our product suite. We are good at what we do, and our customers love us, most staying 7+ years with us!

We are a growth minded, profitable 16-year old company that has an incredible culture. And...this past year we made the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing companies for the TENTH year in a row! Which is almost unheard of! It has been a wild ride pushing to grow that quickly for that many years! And we are looking to continue that growth by adding a payroll division to our offering. We have always referred this business to our partners, but it is time to set up a team within ApplicantPro that will help our clients know their HCM options and understand how all of it integrates with what they currently use and love. We use a low pressure, consultative approach to sales and meet clients where they are while helping them understand how additional offerings can help their business grow.

What are we looking for:

We are looking for an optimistic, self-starter that has a few years of HCM or payroll experience under their belt that is excited to blaze a new trail and help establish what our payroll sales team looks like at ApplicantPro. You will have tons of support and training on the product itself, its awesome features and proven systems that have driven success in the past. But what we really need is a connector. Someone that can take the product information and training along with the ideal customer profile and client culture and merge the two to come up with a very organic, very human approach to offering them payroll. And then the drive to go and get it. You will have some exciting sales/revenue goals to reach before the end of the year, so be ready to hit the ground running. And by that, we mean roll up your sleeves, get comfortable asking questions, be ok with trying new things, and help us set up an amazing program that can be set up to grow next budget year and into the future.

A Day in the Life of a Payroll Sales Rep:

As an inside sales (payroll sales) rep, you will be working directly with the clients of ApplicantPro and the teams that will help feed your calendar with appointments – ATS sales, Client Success, Marketing and Support. Once given your "territory", you will work to connect with these clients through email, phone calls, LinkedIn connections, and even through the team. You will work to establish yourself as an expert in the HCM space and to gain their trust. From there you will listen to their pains, assess their needs, and then give a personalized presentation that matches their needs. You will make strong recommendations and close the deals. You will then use your amazing communication skills to hand over all the important details to the team to implement and train the newly signed client team. You will stay involved to ensure a smooth transition and help navigate any snags in the process.

Requirements for this Payroll Sales Inside Sales Rep:

These abilities that will qualify you for this full-time position are:

  • 2+ years of consultative sales experience and proven success
  • 1 year of payroll or HCM experience
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with all personalities and business roles
  • Strong computer skills including working with spreadsheets (mostly used for tracking)
  • Experience using Hubspot is a plus but not required
  • A creative and independent thinker
  • A desire to continually grow and apply new skills

Your Schedule & Working Location:

This job is full time from 8-5 pm and you will work in the Charlotte, NC office. A few times a year, you will be traveling to SLC to be on the ground with the team face-to-face. Otherwise, team meetings will be held over Zoom with heavy collaboration through email, phone, and Google chat. Culture is really important to us, and we work hard to nurture that even though we will be in different locations.
